What to look for in Winter
I’ve been looking for a good copy of Ladybird’s “What to look for in Winter” for a while and I was lucky enough to find one in Pages Books in Settle.
As well as being beautifully illustrated Ladybird books are like little time capsules, offering a glimpse into how life in Britain has changed over the last fifty years.
The illustrations in this book are by renowned local painter Charles Tunnicliffe. They show farming methods made obsolete by modern technology and trees full of birds that are rarely seen today like Redpolls and Siskins.
